SG 1068 – Livingston Saturday Night

Jimmy Buffett released this as a single in 1978.  Rancho Deluxe is a 1975 comedy starring Jeff Bridges and Sam Waterston as cattle rustlers in Livingston, Montana.  Jimmy Buffett contributed several songs to the soundtrack, including “Livingston Saturday Night,” an upbeat country tune about gearing up for a night out on the town. Buffett performs it in the movie at a country and western bar.   This references Tony Lama (“You got your Tony Lama’s on your jeans pressed tight”), a company that makes western-style boots.  Doug McCart does a nice job on the square dance version.
